I received additional help from both of these two gentleman and a special extra thanks, it was greatly appreciated. The problem with your radio is C It is a small blue tantalum cap right between the two wires that permit adjusting the bias to the finals. It shorts all the time. So I looked and looked one night last week for a while and finally found C He’s right, it’s a very small quarter-inch tall blue cap that looks like a tiny blue gumdrop. At first I didn’t just want to cut it and take a chance making it any worse and alter something if it didn’t cure it, and then have it even further out of spec.

Servicing Fender Amplifiers This is my Fender amp servicing guide. I developed this service guide after many years of servicing Fender Vintage amplifiers. Many Fenders used the same circuit inside with just a few different parts in the same spot on the board. You don’t need a special service guide for each amp to be able to service a Deluxe Reverb, Super Reverb, Pro reverb or any of the vintage fender amps. Before doing any service work on an amplifier, you must make sure the amplifier is unplugged from the wall and the filter caps are drained.
Your CB will run just fine off of the power from the 12v power supply plug but if you are mounting the CB permanently, you might want to consider wiring the CB into the accessory wiring harness. Not something we will get into here but we will say, keep the inline fuse in place and DO NOT hook up the polarity backwards!

How you’ll do that depends on your vehicle.
Over the years each employee has had to learn the hard way “not to drill or self drill screw into anything that you can’t see behind or feel behind to make sure you don’t drill into anything you shouldn’t”. We have had installers drill into air-conditioning coolant, break fluid, batteries, wires, antifreeze, glass, and one installer even drilled the gas tank on a VW and everything else under the hood or behind the dash.
With each new installer this Rule has been broken which usually costs Truckcity a lot of money. Most of the time the answer I get when I ask if they looked or felt behind where they were drilling they said “I didn’t think there was anything there”. Or ,and this is a good one. S; just make sure every time”. CB Radio location The main rules are usability and staying away from the heater. If you mount the radio where the heater blows on it, it will overheat the radio inside and shorten it’s life.
Where ever the radio fits is fine.

If anyone thinks a good quality EMS is costly…try replacing blown out circuit boards on appliances a time or two. Mike Sokol August 19, at DaveG August 14, at 7: Recently it saved us from problems that would have cost many times the units price to repair. When we plugged in the Progressive unit indicated no ground. I contacted the CG office and they moved me to another site in the same row. Same indication, so I called the office back, they told me my Progressive unit was defective and that they had seen many problems like that, go ahead and stay at the site there will be no problems.
Well I believe my Progressive unit, not the desk clerk. I moved to another row and had no problems indicated. That told me there was a ground problem at the sub panel for the row.

Motorcycle Wiring Joe Tessitore is a strange guy. Most bike builders hate working with motorcycle wiring, but not Joe. The most overlooked, forgotten, or avoided aspect of building a custom motorcycle has to be the electrical system. You can spend lots of time and money building a high performance engine or sculpting beautiful lines. This takes the AC current produced by the stator and changes it to DC current to charge the battery. It will also keep the voltage from getting too high and frying your system.
Most often you can find it under the seat area or under one of the side covers. The old ones worked poorly to begin with, and chances are, the stock one is dead or on its way out. Replacing points with electronic ignitions. These send the signal to the coils telling them when to fire the spark plugs. While a traditional points ignition works fine when adjusted properly, it does require periodic maintenance and the know-how to get it dialed in just right. For this reason many riders choose to upgrade to an electronic unit that is mostly maintenance free once installed.
The most common of these are the Pamco and Dyna below units.

You want your antenna mounted to the body, not anything that attaches to the body, even tailgates MAY not be good for grounding? I would ground it straight to the body. Sand of the paint ground to bare metal and then you can pain over it if you want.
Jul 30, · Is it better to hook up the black power wire to the negative battery terminal or to the chassis ground? I have a Cobra 75WXST. The cobra directions aren’t that clear. They lead me to believe I should ground it which I did at the ground point on the firewall that is also grounded to the hood. Im using 14gauge wire to power the CB. I also.
The CB rig will need connection to 12v power – there are various ways of doing this Wire direct to the battery Patch into the power to the car radio Connect to the fusebox Plug into the cigarette lighter socket Wire direct to the battery This is the best way of doing the job, but can be the hardest to do in some vehicles, yet easy in Land Rovers with the battery under the passenger seat.
In vehicles with the battery in the engine compartment, you may find some blanked off or grommeted holes – sometimes loads of them if the same bulkhead is used for LHD and RHD versions. If the vehicle is newer you may not find any useable ones at all, it’s a matter of poking about to see what you can find. If you decide to drill a hole to reach the battery please make sure you know whats on the other side of the panel you’re drilling and that there’s no chance of anything getting caught by your drill.
The hole may have sharp edges, so it’s important to use a grommet or at the very least large amounts of insulating tape to shield the wire from being cut. Make sure that it’s going to stay where you put it, as large amounts of tape on one bit of the wire is not good if it just moves as you’re refitting your carpet, for example so the unprotected wire is in the hole i’ve been there! You should fit a fuse as close to the battery as you can – one of our blade fuse holders and fuse does nicely, just put a ring terminal on the end of the short wires, and use a connector block to join the other wire to the wire for your CB.
Another advantage with wiring direct to the battery is that you will be less likely to get interference from the vehicles’ electrics, i. See also our cigar lighter plugs and leads and extra power cable. Patch into the power to the car radio This can be an easy way of getting power to your CB – depending on the wiring your stereo has.
Simply follow the included instructions. There are a number of ways to mount a radio in a Wrangler. Under the dash is one option, but the newer rigs have plastic dashes and only very small radios will fit. If your 6 foot tall like me, under the dash isn’t an option. I tried mounting it under the dash on the passenger side, but my wife suggested that it may not be the best option.
Of course, she was right.

The following description applies to most cassette and open reel tape transports including those used in portable and microcassette recorders, Walkmen, and telephone answering machines. Looking at the top of the deck such that the tape heads are at the bottom: Supply reel table – left hand side platform on which the supply tape reel sits. Edge which contacts idler tire if used should be cleaned. Takeup reel table – right hand side platform on which the takeup tape reel sits.
Idler – assembly which swings between supply and takeup reels and transfers power to the appropriate reel to wind the tape up during play and record and often to drive FF and REW. In some designs, this uses gears or some other type of mechanism. In very expensive decks, individual motors are used for each reel and there is no intermediate drive. Idler tire – the black rubber ring on the outside of one part of the idler which actually contacts the reel edges.
This is not as common in audio tape decks as VCRs. If one is used, it should be cleaned and inspected for deterioration, dirt, and wear.
